At The Laurels of Coldwater, we take great pride in ensuring that everyone feels like part of our family, and that they are treated as special "guests" in our home.

The Laurels of Coldwater employs a team of highly qualified medical professionals, including a Medical Director, Registered Nurses, Restorative Care Nurses, a Wound Care Nurse, state tested Certified Nursing Assistants, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and a Speech Therapist. Our on-site Rehab, Dietary, Social Work, and Activities departments provide personalized and compassionate care to each guest. From the moment you walk through the front doors, the warmth and caring of the staff will begin to gain your trust and confidence, as they strive to exceed your expectations.

Unlike other facilities that use "contracted" staff members, each member of the team at The Laurels of Coldwater is directly employed, not "contracted". Each Team Member takes great pride in portraying "The Laurel Way of Caring", as they strive for excellence in providing only the highest standard of care and services to every guest, and to every family member and visitor. Dawn Nickret, Director of Nursing

Dawn Nickrent, R.N. joined Laurel Healthcare as a Floor Nurse in April 2012. She worked her way through Unit Manager and ADON positions, eventually leading to the Director of Nursing at The Laurels of Coldwater. Dawn brings 25 years of experience and leadership in nursing to The Laurels of Coldwater and strives to ensure that our guests receive the best service in nursing care and customer service. Dawn has two children and resides with her husband and paraplegic dog, Capone.

Bree Tappenden, Director of Marketing

Bree graduated from Siena Heights University in 2007 with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.  She began her career in long-term care in 2014 as the Admissions Coordinator and then accepted the position as Marketing Director in 2015.  Bree is involved in her community and enjoys educating the public and medical professionals about the services Laurels has to offer.  She enjoys helping others and will be an important part of making your family member feel at home during their stay.

Kristen Griffiths, Rehabilitation Services Director

Kristen graduated from Rhodes State College with an Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting in 2005.  She has worked in various settings, including acute care hospital and an out-patient facility, before settling into geriatrics in 2007.  She has been in rehab management since graduating college.  In March of 2013, Kristen moved from Ohio to Michigan to take the position of Rehab Services Director for The Laurels of Coldwater.  She enjoys spending her weekends in Michigan out on the lake with her family.
